Tigers in 2020

At the end of a successful year, Tigers is now looking ahead to 2020 and preparing for more exciting developments.

First, Tigers will welcome a new intake of participants for the Savages Leadership Programme starting in April that will kick off with a week-long training session in Knysna, South Africa.

As the home country of CEO Andrew Jillings, South Africa is a key location for Tigers and each year the participants of the Savages Leadership Programme start their training in the South African sunshine.

Digital technology was a big focus for Tigers throughout 2019 and will continue into 2020 as it rolls out the new Store 2 Warehouse Management System and a capacity increase for the SmartHub:Connect (SH:C) core transaction processor.

“Over the past year. we focused on consolidating what we had and building for the future by removing legacy systems,” said Mark Gatenby, Chief Information Officer, Tigers.

“In terms of building software, we worked on a number of operational efficiency savings in the Store 1 Warehouse Management System, and we have finished the first phase of Store 2 that will soon be piloting in Chicago.

“We added a large number of features to SH:C, such as the new Purchase Order Suite to allow factory order tracking, advance KPIs, and brokerage.

“And Tigers also completed over 300 integration projects in 2019, which is a new record, beating 244 from the previous year.”

SH:C is an online freight, logistics, and ecommerce portal that underpins Tigers’ global systems and powers Tigers network of facilities around the world.

Mark is planning several more updates for SH:C in 2020, including introducing the freight rate platform Doozee for customer use, adding advanced Purchase Order Suite features and 4PL functionality, new multi-language capabilities, and a customer on-boarding wizard application.

Moving further into 2020, Tigers is excited to launch the Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) Solution on the Chinese market with a dedicated presence on WeChat. The FBA Solution involves a partnership with Chronopost and DPD to use fixed delivery slots with Amazon warehouses, saving time and money for customers.

Tigers  has recently relocated into a new omni channel  facility in Yennora, Sydney. The facility was built to accommodate increasing customer demand in the retail and e-commerce sector, as Sydney continues to hold central position for distribution across Australia.

The developments around the world reflect the ongoing modernisation of services and facilities at Tigers as consumer habits change and the demand for ecommerce increases.
