Tigers May 2020 Newsletter
To our valued customers, partners, and to the Tigers family
In our last newsletter I wrote the following: Darwin once said: “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one most adaptable to change.”
Little did any of us know the devastating impact Covid-19 would have on communities and businesses around the world.
The vulnerabilities of many supply chains have been exposed by the disruption of supplies from countries in lockdown. This will inevitably change the way many companies source their products and manage their inventory in the future. It is likely that automation and eCommerce will become more and more a part of our daily business as companies focus on rebalancing their supply chain priorities.
This pandemic has had a severe impact on the global economy and at Tigers we are not immune to this. Every person in Tigers is feeling the impact right now and we will continue to take measures to protect our people and maintain our service levels. In all of this, I am so proud of the way each and every member of Tigers has remained focused and committed to maintaining our service levels, while at the same time staying agile and embracing the changes that have been forced on us by this virus.
The economic future and the long-term impact of this storm are unknown. What is certain is that the economic damage will be felt for some time and that the way we run our businesses will change after this pandemic. We must embrace these changes if we are to emerge stronger and well prepared for the future.
Our priorities are unchanged. Protecting our people, our cash flow and our service levels are paramount. Several of the countries we operate in are in lockdown and several others are running shifts as a safety measure to ensure we maintain safe social distancing. I am pleased to advise that all of our operations remain operational and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone in Tigers for their wonderful contribution during this time. I would also like to thank our customers and partners whose support we appreciate and value.
I reiterate our commitment and support to all of you and thank you for your support and understanding through this unprecedented situation.
Stay safe and best wishes
