The Savages Leadership Programme is an in-house initiative to empower and train the next generation of logistics leaders.
The year-long programme provides participants with an added edge to excel in their current and future roles, by giving them in-depth access to the entire range of Tigers’ enterprise solutions.
Sessions include onsite leadership training, leadership style assessment, mentoring, group projects, job rotation, and a feedback survey.
The Programme welcomed its first class of graduates in November 2017, and has continued throughout 2018 and into 2019, with the most recent workshop taking place at Khao Yai National Park in Thailand where the participants completed outdoor survival training and joined group workshops.
The focus of the course in Thailand was on the delicate ecosystem of the National Park and how animals and plants work together to survive and thrive.
The concept involved considering the nature of business in a holistic manner as a way to prepare for any potential future challenges.
“The core learning module of the week-long programme helped participants observe how nature works, and the participants spent a night in the campground with spiders, monkeys, and deer, as well as completing a search and rescue exercise,” said Catherine Tam, Group HR Director, Tigers.
“The participants had an amazing experience, which enhanced their learning and experience to work with an agile mindset and horizontal leadership on mutually engaging partnerships, collaboration, and co-authorship.”
All of the 2019 participants successfully graduated from the programme.
The next intake will be welcomed in April 2020, with the first week-long training programme taking place in South Africa.
